<1 John 4:16, 18>

As our church has confirmed cases of brethren being infected with Coronavirus, it will follow with some level of fear among people, blame from others and guilt towards those we may have implicated. However, God’s answer to deflect that is in one word, and that is love. Knowing and confirming God’s love in our situation: whether in treatment, quarantined, symptomatic or asymptomatic. When God’s love comes upon us, it drives out fear. This is a protection from hurt and an added strength to love those around you. Therefore, do not flow along with fear, but flow along with Christ’s love.

How to eliminate fear and pursue love during times like these?
1. Intercede for others: “Love does not seek its own interest” True prayers for our loved ones, for protection upon them. God delights in a prayer that comes from our love, despite the persecutions or fear we may face.
2. Love comes with responsibility: Not just empty talk but practical responsibilities. Even though we are unaware of the virus amidst our church, do the right thing, explain to our loved ones whom are in fear and apologise to them sincerely. Those quarantined, abide by the law, and remain at home, spending quality time with family members.
3. Hang on to the Word of God: And not our temporary emotions. Only the word of God can give us absolute peace. “We love, because He first loved us.”
