LCM Kids Online Lesson 21: Where I Am

The Big Idea
Wherever God has placed us, God is with us.

Key Bible Verse

“The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you. He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” -Deuteronomy 31:8
(It would be good for parents to go through the bible verse with the kids before watching the Video Lesson, and have a little notebook or journal where children can copy down the verse/draw something related to it).

So what are the materials we need?

Firstly, we will need a piece of drawing paper, a big piece like that. Then, you will need some light brown paint and dark brown paint. If you only have one brown, you can add some white to make it lighter or some black to make it darker. Also, you will need a paint palette, a paintbrush, a small pot of water to wash your brush and a wet cloth. Then, you will need 2 small brown triangle cutouts, these are actually the ears of your lion. If you don’t want this, you can just paint on the ears too. It is up to you. And finally, you will need a black marker! Got all that ready? Okay let’s start!

Firstly, get your drawing paper ready. And prepare the light brown paint on your palette. Using the paintbrush, grab one side of the base of your feet and paint it with the light brown paint. Then, print it down on your drawing paper. Use a wet cloth to clean the paint off your feet. Now, paint the light brown paint on the other side of the base of your feet and print it on your drawing paper. Then wipe your feet clean with the wet cloth again. Now, you should have both the base of your feet printed on the paper. This will actually be the face of your lion.

What you do now is to prepare the dark brown paint on the palette and use your paintbrush to draw on the mane for the lion. How do you do it? Basically just draw on strokes coming out from your foot print. And just go around it, doing the same until the whole face head has the mane.

Next, grab your triangle cutouts and paste it at the top on either side to form your ears for the lion. If you do not have the cutouts, you can paint on the ears as well.

And once the face has dried up, take your black marker and draw on the details of the face. The eyes, nose and mouth of the lion!

Okay there you have it! Our Brave Lion footprint craft! Now to help you remember the important message of today’s lesson, I would like you to write this sentence below your art piece. The sentence is: “I will be brave like a lion because God is with me wherever I am.”

For younger children, you can also get your mommy daddy or a grownup to help you write it in okay?

I hope you have enjoyed our lesson today about how God blesses us wherever we may be.
