Born again life is not just a passage to heaven
When you are in situations, don't look at face values, look at the truth (how God is loving you through your set of conditions, NOW)

After you are born again, you need to know the truth through the bible -> demolish ur old mindset and learn the new mindset and spirit of truth 

Power of the Holy Spirit comes from you being convinced of the truth 

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. (2 Timothy 3:1-7 NIV)

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. (2 Timothy 4:2-5 NIV)

  1. Scriptural truth (know it in full, not truncated)
    1. Wise for salvation- through faith in Jesus Christ 
      • For the world is unwise in the sight of God, they are chasing their ideals and desire
      • The scripture tells you the greatest gift of God, ie through Christ he has given you everything you need = identity is COG
      • The bible tells you this so that you will choose the wise way in all situations, wise are you who rely in God in all things 
      • Covenant of God (promise) 
      • *Live in heaven now! 
    2. Give us the will of God, conviction of HS(breath of god) = sanctification (be made like Christ) knowing the truth, you will become unrest when you don't walk in it
      • All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, (2 Timothy 3:16 NIV)
      • The truth tells you everything -> you start to know the will of God and everything under the sun
      • Eg you know that God gives you money to be a good steward 
      • Know the will -> compelled you to live out (conviction of the HS)
      • Is god perfecting your faith? 
    3. Prepare you for good works?
      • God disciplines, intervenes in each turn of our lives, even hardships and sufferings -> to prepare you for His good work
        • Examine, repent if need be, and anticipate God and pray 
      • Good works is always in relation to saving souls (evangelism), build church
    • * truth will be exciting and refreshing in the beginning, but soon you will realise it is hard to act on it (head knowledge and cannot act on it)
      • Because you are not fully convinced of the truth, not mere knowing 
  2. How to be convinced of the truth
    1. Confirm the truth 
      • Eg even staff we need confirmation ( to see if she really perform and verify her ability)
      • Don't take short cuts in confirmation, how much you have confirmed is what have become inscribed in your heart
      • Confirmation = studying the reality again by the word of God,  thus finding assurance that the truth prevails in all relative situation 
      • Why god wants us to confirm? So that we can be strong and be grounded in our understanding of God, and not be swayed 
      1. Direct confirmation - pray and receive answers  (easier to relate to, and confirm) --> prayer is also for us to confirm!
      2. Indirect confirmation - in relative situations, see the truth 
    2. Continue to confirm and obey until the day:
    3. You become convinced of the truth 
      • How does the power of HS come? The power of HS that enable you rejoice in relative situations come from the truth you are convinced of. The power is more powerful than your self will
      • It comes from confirm, continue and obey 
  3. Sent forth by HS to evangelise (after you are convinced)
    1. Compelled by God (not self driven, you realise you have no choice but to share)
    2. In and out of season
      • When out of season, you cannot stop sharing because it is the truth, not preaching because of outcomes (*in your cell group, are you preaching because it is the truth or because it is outcome based)
    3. Suffering for the truth
      • When you are willing to suffer for it (suffer loss), that is where your value is




The complete gospel makes you come near to god, and be compelled to follow god more and more.

Are you convinced of the truth? 
Acknowledging the truth = in agreement with the truth (and thus you will pray according to it, even though you cannot do it)
Confirm the truth (prayers) until you are convinced (imprinted in your heart) --> act on it
