The Gospel of Jesus. The Words of the Spirit

The soul of evangelism is not a Christian duty but an increasing quench to be sent forth by the HS, so that we know nothing of ourselves are worth exalting except to testify the power of God 

It is the calling of gospel that drives you forward. 

What is the reason to fight the weakness if we are not living for gospel, for evangelism. 

What is true holiness... Is it counter-culture? (Eg giving tithes, praying over meals etc)
-- true holiness means the most holy one has come into my life. I can be still a thrash, but the king of holiness has come in, and I'm gonna start talking about him.

Holiness without evangelism is not holiness.

How?
The content of gospel shape your heart, moves you into sharing it 

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it. (‭Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭15-20‬ NIV)

For when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me. What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not make full use of my rights as a preacher of the gospel. Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings. (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭16-23‬ NIV)

We think it is our duty to evangelise? But think deeper, the blessing of gospel, the INFINITE power of HS can only be experienced in evangelism (became less selfish, learn to love others mire selflessly, more sensitive and discerning to what people are saying. You will not be hurt, because you are not fulfilling your self centredness
(Not duty, but a God predestined way to want us to lead a powerful and blessed living)

  1. The gospel of Jesus 
    1. Salvational good news 
        • Sins and depravation - 
        • -->all problems faced in life
          •  Everyone likes to listen Jesus loves etc... But they fail to create the understanding in me of their sins and how great is their depravation
          • Repentance must happen. It's not the fleshy sin, it is the sin from departing from God (follow your desire, doing everything without god in it)
        • Pressing spirit (until you can become all man to save man) and compelling conviction 
          • Sometimes it is not about knowing a lot about the bible but the pressing spirit 
          • If we still have hesitation (eg what if they think otherwise about me ie self exaltation).. Know that gospel is turns one into priceless and dignitiless but one with pressing need to save the souls 
        • Persecutions and difficulties and pressures by non believers or loved ones 
          • You realised they are really far from gospel to look deep into their lives to start praying earnestly 
          • You look deeper into how they feel and start to relay to them 
          • Sometimes they just don't know and can't see eternity in their life. They are doing funs in life etc... When you see them filling their lives with fun, you must start praying for them -->it's for you to seek and pray harder so you can get the right message for them
          • Real problems that they can feel will come to them after you start testifying for them -->  so that they will be led into knowing how empty and hopeless their life is
    3. The words of the spirit 
        • Voice of god given to your heart at appropriate time to the appropriate people, such that acting to it, you bring the glory of God 
        1. Given to those with true humility (to god) and love (for souls)
          1. Drive you distress (to see full of idols like Paul)
            • Sometimes we are so stress about doctrines but we are not stress over spiritual blindness in people's heart 
          3. Genuine heart to relate not refute 
            • Intention to save, not to prove themselves 
            • While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols. So he reasoned in the synagogue with both Jews and God-fearing Greeks, as well as in the marketplace day by day with those who happened to be there. A group of Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to debate with him. Some of them asked, “What is this babbler trying to say?” Others remarked, “He seems to be advocating foreign gods.” They said this because Paul was preaching the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.

              When they heard about the resurrection of the dead, some of them sneered, but others said, “We want to hear you again on this subject.” At that, Paul left the Council. Some of the people became followers of Paul and believed. Among them was Dionysius, a member of the Areopagus, also a woman named Damaris, and a number of others. (‭Acts‬ ‭17‬:‭16-18, 32-34‬ NIV)
          • Pray and consider carefully 
            • Don't just dismiss and say we can't - is your spiritual eye blind to what people are experiencing and saying 
          • Become all things to all men so that I can save some man 

The way of the spirit is the way of faith and the way of conviction
