You want to make friends or know your friend 

Often, we judge to serve our own pride 

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? (You are actually spiritually blind, therefore you don't see the plank in your own eyes) You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. (Pigs and dogs are people who follow the flesh, self centred and self serving, they do not want to live before god. So even though you told them the will of god, because they are not what they want to hear --> they will tear you into pieces - make the good judgment about the right thing at the right time) If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. (‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭1-6‬ NIV)

1. Making good judgment about vs judging others
   1. The need to make good judgment 
      • It is in our instinct (we are made in the image of the invisible god -> we rep Him, through the way we think and feel, we reign over the world) --> love! goodness and justice (people know of God's love, goodness and justice because of the good judgment we have made about people and things)
        • People come to know God through you who represents god 
        • So you must see how glorious you are first, before you can even do the right thing or makes right judgment 
   2. Judging others (because we have heard the wrong voice)
      • Voice that gives ourselves over to self-centredness,| when we feel short-changed, hurt.. (A voice that is full of self)
   3. Measure you used --> will be measured to you
      • By: your conscience (co-knower) and others 
      • People who judge others will create a judging environment to your loved ones (seeing less of the love of God, selfless love  of God)
2. Gospel is given you to give you a pure spirit 
   • Speck -  little weakness you see in others eyes
   • Plank - spiritual blindness (1) not born again (2) not seeking God's will but easing ourselves 
     • Seek god's will to discern the thoughts through the truth -> and reject 
   1. Recognise the truth of God as supreme (even if you feel otherwise or lacking)
   2. Pray through the truth to seek His will (and His judgment of people around you)
      • Pray till we let ourselves to be influenced by what is rightfully reasonable in god's eyes (perfect, pleasing good will of god)
      • How you know: you are getting away from self-centredness, wants to draw nearer and nearer to Him
   3. Constantly reject the wrong judgment and affirm the right ones 
      • When we we clouded by wrong judgment, it isn't that you don't know the right own, but you are clouded 
      • Resolve to see god and meet god - God hears the prayer of such a person
3. Need to be discerning in relating to people (gospel, the will of god)
   1. Beware of a spiritually stubborn nature (self who wants to reign on the throne, refuse to listen to the truth as it is not aligned with what we want) --> pray and challenge this nature
   2. Discerning and wise to people 
      • Are people provoked by you or be edified by you?
      • Pray and help people break down their own mental blockages 
      • Not about telling the gospel, but to rep God and touch people with the love of god 
   3. Preserve the sacredness and beauty of the gospel
