The unforgivable heart <Mt 12:30-37>

Ever doubt whether God will give you what you're praying for?

It is the state of our hearts, not the gravity of our sins that determine if we are forgivable

“He who is not with Me [definitely on My side] is against Me, and he who does not [definitely] gather with Me and for My side scatters. Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy (every evil, abusive, injurious speaking, or indignity against sacred things) can be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the [Holy] Spirit shall not and cannot be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Spirit, the Holy One, will not be forgiven, either in this world and age or in the world and age to come. Either make the tree sound (healthy and good), and its fruit sound (healthy and good), or make the tree rotten (diseased and bad), and its fruit rotten (diseased and bad); for the tree is known and recognized and judged by its fruit. You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man from his inner good treasure flings forth good things, and the evil man out of his inner evil storehouse flings forth evil things. But I tell you, on the day of judgment men will have to give account for every idle (inoperative, nonworking) word they speak. For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭12:30-37‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Do you know the kind of God you are following?

  1. God is incredibly forgiving <v 31-32>
  2. Yet there is an unforgivable sin= Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit!
  3. FROM heart >> mouth - determine if you are acquitted/condemned?
    1. Words are powerful (impactful) - Words are inevitable aspect of our lives, yet an important means of grace [embodiment of word = flesh]
      1. 2 sources of human words - God (Give life); Devil (kills)
    2. We speak what our heart is full of - so what your heart is full of?  Importance of training your heart -> shape by God's truth [dont let our heart entertain so many untruths]
Only when our heart is free from accusations, untruths, and helplessness

Guard our words and do not speak things that diminish another's person dignity (man is created in God's image) --> so that we do not give Satan footholds

Practise!
  - from people close to you

Introspect your heart and words -> a wise person, he will win the heart of God.
