LCM Kids Online Lesson 6: My God-Given Family!

The Big Idea:

God plans the family we are in that love us and need us.
We are gifts to each other from up above!

Key Bible Verse:

“Do not be angry with each other, but forgive each other. If someone does wrong to you, then forgive him. Forgive each other because the Lord forgave you.” – Colossians 3:13 (ICB Version)
(It would be good for parents to go through the bible verse with the kids before watching the Video Lesson, and have a little notebook or journal where children can copy down the verse/draw something related to it).

Love Each Other

Knowing You Are Loved And Chosen In Christ

Do you have the assurance of being saved in Christ despite falling into weaknesses again and again? How do you know that you are loved and chosen by God? Simple it may seem, yet the message this week is fundamental to all believers to confirm if they are truly saved in Christ, and to understand the persevering salvation God has given to His children through His supreme grace. For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. (1 Thessalonians 1:4-6 NIV)

“THE HUNGRY EAGLE!” Tag Game

We will need 3 characters:
a mother hen, a hungry eagle and a chick or as many chicks as your family can be.

Instructions:

1. The chick or chicks will hide behind the mother hen, lined up in a row, holding onto each other like a train. The eagle will then stand in front of the mother hen.
2. When the game starts, the eagle will try to tap the chicks hiding behind the mother hen. The mother hen will have to move around, stretching her arms to protect her chicks!
3. Once the eagle touches any one of the chicks, the eagle wins and the chick that is tapped will be the next eagle. (You may also switch the characters around from time to time)
