LCM Kids Online Lesson 7: Stories With Jesus! (The Sower and The Seeds)

The Big Idea:

I want to be a good soil that takes in God’s word and bear fruits!

Key Bible Verse:

“But what is the seed that fell on the good ground? That seed is like the person who hears the teaching of God and understands it. That person grows and produces fruit.”
Matthew 13:23 (ICB version)

(It would be good for parents to go through the bible verse before watching the Video Lesson, and have a little notebook or journal where children can copy down the verse/draw something related to it).

One Way, Jesus!

Show Me Your Ways

Do You Want The Lord?

To overcome your feelings but rely on the truth, the basic question you have to ask yourself is: "Do you want the Lord?" Only when you turn to the Word of God, which is the only truth and will of God can your heart be changed. Then you will be able to enjoy a new living, so that real good works happen. Regeneration is the key towards having a life that can change from the heart of a slave to the heart of a son. Enter through the narrow gate and walk the narrow path to go back to the only Word of God. It is all about Christ life and Christ living. Believe in His promise, and carefully obey. Take joy in the obedience not the outcome. Cultivate the spiritual know-hows so that you may be Holy Spirit filled. Once your heart changes, teach and share with authority. Only Jesus gives the True Spirit of the Word. There is a difference between being convicted of sins and being convicted by God's love. The latter is the work of the Holy Spirit that will not go back. May you only rely on Christ, Holy Spirit, and may your life happen only for Evangelism.

Home Activities:

“God’s Blooming Plant” craft activity:
1. Get a paper cup and cut off the top part of the cup so that it is more shallow. Then, paint or decorate it. If you do not have a paper cup, you may also use a piece of paper, roll it up, stick it to make a cylinder and cut vertical strips (about 10 cm each) at one end of the cylinder. Then, fold them in and stick it together to form a cup.

2. Next, get some green colour paper. If you do not have, you may colour a piece of white paper with green colour pencil or paint it.

3. Trace out long leaf drawings with a pencil and draw on the details on the leaf veins with a marker. Cut out the leaf shapes of 3 different sizes (large, medium and small). Each size to have about 4 or 5 pieces of leaves.

4. Cut a small slit at the end to the leaf, along the vein, and fold them across each other. Then staple or stick it together. This will make the leaf pop up.

5. After doing so for all the leaves, cut out a circle cutout as a base. Paste the large sets of leaves around the circle cutout. Then stick on the medium set in the centre, followed by the small set right at the core. Leave it to dry.

5. Place the finished plant piece in the paper cup you have decorated earlier on. Your paper pot plant is done! If you want to secure the paper plant, you may also add a blutack to the bottom of the plant and stick it inside the paper pot.

6. Place it somewhere you can see it to remind yourself to bloom like the seed the falls on God’s good soil, good word and promises!
