LCM Kids Online Lesson 11: Stories With Jesus (The Prodigal Son)

The Big Idea
God rejoices when we turn back to Him.

Key Bible Verse
“But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.”  Luke 15:32
(It would be good for parents to go through the bible verse with the kids before watching the Video Lesson, and have a little notebook or journal where children can copy down the verse/draw something related to it).

Jesus Is Willing To Heal!

A man with leprosy came and knelt before Jesus and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. Then Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.” Mt 8:1-4 Jesus is willing to heal us, and most importantly, He has the authority to do so! But do we see ourselves as patients needing His healing today? Are we humble enough to receive this healing of the Cross?

Home Activities:

“Turn Back To Jesus” Home Made Spinning Top

Materials needed:
White paper (thick), scissors, markers, colour pencils, toothpicks.

Instructions:
1. First, get your paper and draw out a few circles about half the size of your palm. If you find it hard, look for circle items in your house and trace it. Once done, cut the circles out.
2. Decorate your spinning top with the markers and colour pencils. To make it have a special colour changing effect, try drawing stripes of colours around the circle, like that.
3. On the other side of your circle, write the words “Turn Back To God”.
4. Grab your toothpicks (be careful as the toothpick can be pretty sharp), aim at the centre of your circle and poke it through slowly! 5. Now your spinning top is done! Try spinning them!
