17 Apr LCM Kids Online Lesson 2: By Faith, Not By Sight
The Big Idea
Faith is not being able to know and see sometimes, but trusting in the One who can!
Verse of the Week
“For we live by faith, not by sight.” <2 Corinthians 5:7>
(It would be good for parents to go through the bible verse before watching the Video Lesson, and have a little notebook or journal where children can copy down the verse/draw something related to it).

Look Out For The Mines!
Materials needed: A piece of cloth (as blindfold), some paper plates/tissues boxes/cups (as mines), tape (for starting and ending line).
Players needed: A blind man and a guide.
Instructions:
- Start with 2 players. Have one put the blind fold on the other. Then, set up a pretend “mine field” with the paper plates/tissue boxes/cups in a given space. Make sure there are no clear paths from one side of the “field” to the next so that the blind folded child does not know where they are going.
- The object of the game is to have the non-blindfolded player to guide the blindfolded one across the “minefield” from one end to the other, without stepping or touching the “mines”.
- If the child does touch a mine, then they have to start over until they completely get through the “mine field”.
- Main Idea: It takes great faith and trust in God to get us through the hard times in life even though we cannot always see what lies ahead. Many times, we look for help and direction from everyone but God. From today’s lesson, let us put our faith and trust in God for help and direction to bring us through those hard times.
