Dealing With Diversity, Economy and Fear

Deacon Hui Zhen - 6 March 2014

Preparing And Sanctifying Ourselves For The Lord's Work

All English Service

God's work will only be fulfilled by His own timetable. However, it is important for us to prepare our mindset and attitude as ministers of the gospel in order to give the complete truth. This preparation requires sanctification through our encounters, life experiences and even our trials as we place our focus on God. With this prepared, we will become soldiers of Christ that seeks only His guidance, athletes that runs for the Lord and not ourselves, and the hardworking farmer that waits faithfully for God's harvest in time to come.

Verses to read: <Exodus 32:1-6>

Problem of Diversity

* Diversity is a gift from God

* Yet, sin makes diversity divisive

* The liberal World will turn away from Biblical truths to achieve unity

* Pray for Christian political leaders to adhere to biblical truths and principle

Problem of Economy

* Material provision and well-being is a legitimate need, but how much is enough?

* More material dreams ⟹ Higher Salary ⟹ Quest for higher productivity ⟹ Take away happiness, family time, creativity, critical values…

* Consequences of pegging education to economy

* Church messages must not advocate gospel + prosperity

Problem of Fear

* Pray against paranoid Government

* Fear always take away happiness, enjoyment and creativity

* Fear cause people to adopt liberal views

* Fear will ultimately result in idolatry
